LAUNCH OF HAND DRAWN GLASS BY NIGEL PEAKE IN ATELIER COURBET NEW YORK : 17TH SEPTEMBER

The new poetic collection,“Hand Drawn Glass,”features barware and drinking vessels designed by Irish artist Nigel Peake.

We are happy to announce the launch of our third collection of tabletop glassware.

The series was designed and drawn by Nigel Peake and represents a departure from the traditional rigid cut patterns of crystal glass, exploring an organic approach to form and design.  The pieces feature clean, elemental shapes, and cuts that reveal the imprint of the hand.

Known for his paintings and drawings of build and unbuilt landscapes - intrepeted in his books, textiles, porcelain and glass, Nigel has created a series of three tumblers, a carafe, decanter and bowl.  A spontaneous cutting motion captures the fleet movement of the drawing hand.

A book of drawings and references, titled “Fieldwork,” accompanies the collection. The book illustrates the continuum between inspriation, glass and cut pattern. The artists visual occupation materialises in the cut glass.
